Bayside Glen Eira Kingston Local Learning and Employment Network

The Bayside Glen Eira Kingston Local Learning and Employment Network (BGK LLEN) creates partnerships which aim to increase the potential of local young people (10 – 19 years) to make a successful passage through school and into ongoing education, training or employment.

We build mutually beneficial relationships with a range of local stakeholders in four main groups – ‘education and training providers’, ‘parents and family members’, ‘community groups’ and ‘business and industry’ – across the Bayside, Glen Eira and Kingston regions of Melbourne.

Our partnerships are created by undertaking research, building relationships with local organisations and listening to the needs of our community. We can then collaboratively identify gaps in services or the need for new ones. Once needs are identified we work with our stakeholders to better resource existing services or pilot new ones. The BGK LLEN doesn't deliver services - instead we support those organisations that have the right expertise to provide a program or service.

Our cross-sector partnerships are focused on: enhancing young people’s passage through school; enhancing young people’s engagement with learning; expanding the education and career pathways available to young people; and, retaining young people in meaningful education, training and employment. We don’t work WITH young people – We work FOR young people. Read More
