The BGK LLEN is made up of a range of regional professionals who represent different stakeholders within our community. LLEN Committees of Management representation must come from the following sectors to enable an effective regional representation, consultation and community development to be achieved:
  • Schools
  • TAFE institutes or universities with TAFE sector
  • Adult community education providers (ACE)
  • Other education and training organisations, including private registered training organisations, universities and Group Training companies
  • Trade unions
  • Employers/ peak employer organisations/ registered employers organisations and employer agencies
  • Local government
  • Other community agency and organisations, commonwealth and state government departments, adult community and further education regional councils, regional youth councils, area consultative committees etc
  • Koorie organisations, peak Koorie agencies or regional Koorie organisations
  • Community member
  • Young person (18-24)

  • Helen Dunne (Campus Manager, Monash University, Caulfield Campus) - representing ‘University'
  • Les Heimann (Bendigo Bank Highett, Community Chair) - representing ‘Employers'
  • Rosemary Sharman (Chief Executive Officer, Sandybeach Centre) - representing ‘Adult and Community Education'
  • Jan Lambert (Program Manager, Holmesglen Vocational College) representing ‘TAFEs'
  • Vernita Zigouras (Principal, Westall Secondary College) - representing ‘Schools'
  • NB. Coopted and invited observer positions will be ratified at the first meeting of the new 2008/2009 CoM in late May 2008.

A key strength of the BGK LLEN Committee of Management (CoM) is that it includes elected representatives from all the categories of our membership base. To gain maximum benefit from this multi-sector membership base our CoM members are all expected to be active and enthusiastic representatives of their constituency, and advocates for and on behalf of their sector's interests when relevant issues are under consideration by the CoM.
