Program: Child FIRST Organisation: Family Life Target Group: Parents and families Description: Child FIRST links children, young people and their families requiring support into appropriate and relevant services, and provides information and advice. This program can assist parents and families to join groups, such as playgroups, young mums and dads groups, parent education groups, volunteer and mentoring support programs and social support groups. Program: Adolescent and Family Counselling Service Organisation: Youth Connect Target Group: Adolescents, parents and family members Description: Delivered by a registered psychologist for young people and their families. The aim is to empower and support individuals and families to work towards overcoming any issues, and increase quality of life and wellbeing. Program: Family and Carer Support Organisation: Lantern Target Group: Family members and carers of people with mental illness Description: Individual counselling and support to parents and carers who have a family member with a mental illness and involved with Lantern services. Program: Family Mediation and Counselling Organisation: Family Mediation Centre Target Group: Parents and Adolescents Description: Offers mediation and counselling to families to address issues affecting the wellbeing of children and parents. Issues may include: difficulty communicating between adolescents and parents; family separation; mental health issues; school and friendship issues; and, drugs and alcohol.
