BGK LLEN research is developed exclusively by our staff or in collaboration with partner organisations. Research needs are often determined by our staff, our Committee of Management, a partnership group or by an organisational stakeholder.

Title: 2012 BGK Regional Scan Author: BGK LLEN Release Date: February 2012 Description: An in-depth report which reviews the current organisational, social, business, education and demographic environment within which the BGK LLEN (and many of our stakeholders) operates. 2011 Research
Title: Transitions Fact Sheets. Author: BGK LLEN Transition Network. Release Date: December 2011. Description: The BGK LLEN Transition Network has created a set of 'Transition Help Sheets'. These Help Sheets have been designed to assist students, families, careers counsellors, secondary school teachers, TAFEs, community organisations and employers. The Help Sheets provide information, advice and tips about a variety of transitions that take place during a young person's education and training years.. Link: Transitions Fact Sheets

2010 Research
Title: 2010 Youth Services RYAN Report Author: BGK LLEN and SE LLEN Release Date: May 2010 Description: The aim of this Regional Youth Affairs Network (RYAN) report was to collect qualitative and quantitative information and data about the youth sector's needs in the Southern Melbourne region. This data represents a snap shot of perspectives pertaining to the state of service delivery and issues for young people across the region. Title: 'Ticket to Work' - A best practice School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) model for students with disability Author: Department of Human Services, Southern Region (Michelle Wakeford) and BGK LLEN (Fiona Waugh) Release Date: November 2010 Description: This Paper is both a literature review of strategies and approaches to apprenticeships and traineeships for people with a disability and recommendations for how to develop a best practice SBAT model for young people with disabilities. This Paper was specifically written to assist the 'Youth Disability Pathways Network (Inner Melbourne)' stakeholders to initiate a pilot SBAT Program for young people with a disability and currently enrolled in local Special Schools. Title: 2010 / 2011 Who, What, Where – your guide to all the important stuff in the BGK region Author: BGK LLEN Release Date: August 2010 Description: This handbook, developed for 15 – 19 year olds, provides information about the final years of schooling, post-school education and training, work, money management, housing, rights and responsibilities as a young adult, driving, health and relationships. The handbook provides both information and a guide to local services. While the book's primary audience is young people it is also a useful reference or referral guide for parents, organisations and community members.
