- Information flyers about ASBAs
- Australian Apprenticeship Centre and training organisation contacts
- Flow charts about the processes involved in organising an ASBA
- Frequently asked questions
- News alerts about ASBAs

Background to the initiative
In light of the funding changes for Australian School-based Apprenticeships (ASBAs – formerly SBNAs) coordination in the region at the end of 2005, the BGK LLEN has initiated and convened a series of meetings of key stakeholders in the region to discuss how together, ASBAs can be supported in schools to enable growth and development to be achieved. These discussions have led to a Partnership Group being formed from a variety of community stakeholders – schools, Australian Apprenticeship Centres (AAC), Registered Training Organisations (RTO), Group Training Organisations (GTO), youth service providers (Local Community Partnerships and Regional Industry Careers Advisors) and employers.
Partnership groups goals
The aim of the Partnership Group is, through collaboration and cooperation, to develop:
- A coordinated approach to sustainable ASBA development and implementation in our region
- A model that actively engages schools and supports them to integrate ASBAs as a viable career and transition program in the school’s curriculum
- An inclusive and student centred model
- A model that engages the community and all relevant ASBA partners
- An approach that reflects the nature and philosophies of all schools within this region
- A best practice model that enables all post compulsory aged students in all schools in the region to access opportunities that engage them in education, training and employment.
Partnership group information
The aim of the BGK LLEN in convening the initial discussions was to involve as many active partners from the Bayside, Glen Eira and Kingston city council regions as possible. These stakeholders would not only advocate and support the development of ASBAs throughout schools in the region, but also look at forging positive working relationships between each other, work to engage more partners, look at initiating partnership programs and ventures and continue to support the group’s goals.
