Research is just another word for gathering information. Generally, the more evidence-based information we have the easier it is to make decisions, solve problems and identify needs. The BGK LLEN conducts its own research and also collaborates with partners to underake research. In addition, the BGK LLEN gathers external research so that it is easily available to our stakeholders. BGK LLEN internal research includes the development of reports, submissions, case studies and evaluations. Where possible our research is developed using a mix of primary sources (seeking the views and opinions of stakeholders via surveys, consultations and evaluations) and secondary sources (synthesising existing research). In fact, a key aim of the BGK LLEN is to “continue to build capacity in our partnerships, our organisation and our community by undertaking rigourous, evidence-based research and evaluation. In addition, we will share our staff research skills and expertise with our partners and stakeholders”. To make it easier for you to find research materials we have broken our Research Library into a number of sections – BGK LLEN Research, BGK LLEN Case Studies, BGK LLEN Submissions, External Research, Government Policies and Journals/Websites. If you think there is a particular research document or resource missing from our Research Library please contact us. |
