Information for Parents

The work of education, training and employment for young people is not as straight forward as it used to be. There are many options and opportunities for young people, support programs and providers as well as initiatives to ensure that all young people achieve positive outcomes in their lives.

The education and training objective of the State Government and its partners is to ensure that all young people complete Year 12 or its equivalent and have a smooth transition into higher education and training or the workforce.

There are many initiatives happening in our community and it is important that all parents are informed about them. This site aims to keep parents up to date with local, regional and State-wide programs, opportunities and commitments for all young people.

Please scroll through the vertical menu bar for more information about secondary schooling, assisting young people with career planning, further education and training and employment issues.  In addition, please refer to the Information for Young People section for other information of relevence to young people such as health and wellbeing, housing, legal rights and responsibilities, identity and citizenship and driving.
